Yampa River Cleanup
Cleaning up the Yampa River has been an annual tradition for Friends of the Yampa. We love our creeks, rivers, and streams for many reasons and by picking up all the trash alongside, next to, and in the river, we play our part in keeping the riverine ecosystem clean.

Note to Volunteers: Please wear adequate footwear for walking along the riverbank and bring thick gloves and other items you might need to stay comfortable for a few hours. Don’t forget to pack layers, sunscreen, bug spray, and snacks. Trash bags and limited pick-up sticks will be provided.
Steamboat Cleanup
Saturday, July 12, 9-11:30am
We will focus on 15 different stretches of the Yampa River along with surrounding areas and downtown tributaries.
Volunteer check-in starts at 9am meeting at Little Toots Park, 55 12th Street, downtown Steamboat Springs. The cleanup takes place from 9 to 11:30am. Lunch and free drinks will be serves at Little Toots Park after the cleanup for all volunteers.
To help streamline the check-in process, we ask that volunteers be signed up by Friday, July 11, at 2 pm. When signing up, you will be able to choose a stretch of river to clean.
*Volunteers: please wear adequate footwear for walking along the riverbank, bring thick gloves, and other items you might need to keep you comfortable for a few hours. Expect mosquitoes, so long-sleeved shirts and bug spray is suggested. Trash bags and limited pick-up sticks will be provided.

Craig and Hayden Cleanup

Craig Cleanup
This time around we will focus on Pebble Beach, Loudy-Simpson and South Beach boat ramps.
Volunteer check-in starts at 5 pm meeting at Loudy-Simpson Boat Ramp (older ramp) in Craig. Once you are assigned a spot, you are free to head out and clean up the area.
The cleanup takes place from 5-7pm. Gino’s pizza and drinks will be served after the cleanup for all volunteers!

This time around we will focus on Hayden Pump Station, Yampa River State Park and Dorsey boat ramps.
Volunteer check-in starts at 5 pm meeting at Yampa River State Park for Hayden cleanup. Once you are assigned a spot, you are free to head out and clean up the area.
The cleanup takes place from 5-7pm. Pizza and drinks will be serves after the cleanup for all volunteers!
