Yampa River Work Planned for Charlie’s Hole

Yampa River Work Planned for Charlie’s Hole

The City of Steamboat Springs Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services Department will be working with contractors to do maintenance work on Charlie’s Hole in the Yampa River.  On Thursday, November 11, 2010 crews will begin working in the river channel to divert flows so work can occur on the rock structure (a Recreational In Channel Diversion Structure).  Work is anticipated to be complete by Wednesday, November 17.  City staff has worked with the United States Army Corps of Engineers and the Colorado Division of Wildlife to obtain the necessary permitting to do this work.

Beginning Thursday November 11, parking may be temporarily impacted at the Bud Werner Memorial Library with mobilization of equipment and supplies.  For more information, please contact Parks, Open Space and Recreational Services at (970) 879-4300.
