What is the IWMP?
The Integrated Water Management Plan (IWMP) process will combine community input with science and engineering assessments to identify actions to protect existing and future water uses and support healthy river ecosystems in the face of growing populations, changing land uses, and climate uncertainty.
This is a community effort, led by people who live and work in the Yampa Valley, and care about the river and its future.

Friends of the Yampa represents Environmental and Recreational interests in the IWMP process. Our team is holding extensive conversations with water users and community members to supplement science and engineering work and inform recommendations.
In 2019 and 2020 FOTY met with 22 Key Stakeholder groups that represent Environmental and Recreation concerns of the Yampa and asked them several questions.
Find out what these stakeholders were concerned about in regards to the Yampa and the Elk Rivers by viewing the results from a stakeholder survey we conducted. You can also see what Agricultural Irrigators and Municipal and Industrial water users said in the survey results.
