The State of the Yampa is an opportunity to come together and learn something about rivers like the Yampa, the lifeblood of our local environment and economy. This year, SOTY is partnering with the Yampa Basin Rendezvous to kick off River Fest and celebrate the knowledge sharing occurring during YBR. The 2023 SOTY/YBR joint event is proud to host Erica Gies, author of “Water Always Wins: Thriving in an Age of Drought and Deluge”, a fantastic book telling stories of how people worldwide coexist with water and rivers in ways that build resilience to a changing climate while also honoring the value of healthy ecosystems.
